Trading in US waters – M/V Hellas Liberty 11 Nov 13

Martecma was invited to attend a seminar on 11Nov13 in Hellas Liberty conference.

The seminar was sponsored by ABS, in conjunction with representatives from the US Coast Guard (USCG) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), on the requirements for trading in US waters.
Martecma was represented by our chairman T. Koutris and our council secretary P. Zaxariadis, who delivered two presentations related to the challenges of the shipmanager in general, and particularly when trading in US. Other Speakers Thomas Kirk, ABS and Frank Rego, USCG Rotterdam and Ryan Albert, US EPA addressed topics including USCG requirements, Port State Control and the EPAӳ Vessel General Permit.
The seminar disseminated information to assist owners in the preparation of their vessels for examination and will facilitate vessel entry and operation within US waters.
